The Federation of Contractors of Islamic Countries holds its second general assembly in the presence of representatives of 18 countries.
The General Assembly of the Federation of Contractors in Islamic Countries held its annual meeting under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Engineer Zakaria bin Abdul Rahman Al Abdul Qadir, on the sidelines of the activities of the Islamic Development Bank Governors’ meeting. The President addressed the members, noting the achievements that have been made since the first General Assembly was held and the steps that the Board of Directors has begun to take for registration procedures. The Federation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Highness the Crown Prince, for the support and assistance that the Federation receives from the wise government to achieve the desired goals. It also thanked the Islamic Development Bank for hosting the General Assembly and Board of Directors meetings, and also extended its thanks to the Saudi Contractors Authority for their care of the federation. For his part, the Secretary-General in charge of the Federation of Contractors in Islamic Countries, Dr. Malik Dongola, reviewed the performance report and proposals for the work plan and budget for the federation, and the federation took a number of decisions, including approving the work plan for the next three years and the draft budget for next year. In the same context, he called on the members to quickly take steps to register the federation and to intensify work on adopting programs that bring together members of the federation and meetings to enhance cooperation between contracting companies in the member states of the federation, and to intensify contacts with member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation who have not yet joined the federation to invite them to join the federation. Then the representatives of the Islamic Development Bank made a presentation on the project opportunities offered by the bank for the year 2023. After the completion of the General Assembly meeting, a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors was held, which reviewed and discussed a number of issues and issued a decision approving the formation of the Federation’s committees to assist the Council in carrying out its tasks. The Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Eng. Zakaria bin Abdul Rahman Al Abdul Qadir, stated that the Islamic Development Bank will continue its support for the Federation in the technical and financial aspects so that it can play its positive role in the renaissance of the construction sector in the countries of the Islamic world. He also called for issuing incentive packages for contractors from Islamic countries in projects financed by the Islamic Development Bank so that it can advance and advance the technical capabilities of companies in Islamic countries.
